Straub Clinic & Hospital Provides Well-Coordinated, Comprehensive Care

Straub Clinic & Hospital is a not-for-profit organization comprised of physicians, nurses, clinical and support staff dedicated to providing the best health care to the people of Hawaii. Every year, Straub provides:

-  inpatient care to over 6,000 sick and injured people
-  nearly 20,000 emergency room visits
-  3,000 outpatient surgeries
-  over 500,000 physician visits and outpatient encounters

Community Support Vital to Expert and Compassionate Care

Straub Clinic & Hospital relies on philanthropy and volunteerism to continue to provide expert and compassionate care. The need for fundraising is essential for not-for-profit healthcare systems as the cost of care, new medical technology, equipment and upgrading of facilities and services is not covered by the payments we receive, especially government payers such as Medicare and Medicaid. In addition, Straub, and throughout the Hawaii Pacific Health System, provide uncompensated care to the uninsured and support many community oriented activities including medical education programs.

The Straub Foundation welcomes your support and assistance at any level.  Your generous contributions help support the hospital's programs and services in the areas of:
 

• PATIENT SERVICES & PROGRAMS: Your support helps provide comprehensive patient services and programs.
• CAPITAL: Keeping our hospital and its medical equipment up to date is critical to providing quality care in the 21st century.
• RESEARCH & EDUCATION: Your support helps fund vital health education and community outreach programs.  It also supports critical research so outcomes are improved and new treatments are discovered.

There are many ways to support the mission of Straub Clinic & Hospital, both now and in the future.

Outright Gifts

An outright gift will have an immediate impact on hospital programs. You can make a gift today in several ways:

• Make a gift of stock. For information about transferring stock electronically, or for other information about making a gift of stock, please call (808) 535-7100.
• Make a gift of real estate or other items, which can be beneficial to both the donor and Straub Foundation. Please call (808) 535-7100.

Planned Gifts

Many people choose to include Straub Clinic & Hospital in their estate plans by making a Planned Gift through the Straub Foundation.  By doing so, they provide support for their hospital, while also enjoying multiple financial and tax benefits.

Consider making one of the following types of Planned Gifts and you’ll become a member of the Legacy Society, receiving recognition on Straub’s Donor Wall.

A bequest is a gift through your will or trust and is one of the simplest and most popular ways to leave your legacy.  Your attorney can include the necessary language in your will.  For suggested bequest language click here.

A Life Income Plan benefits both the donor and Straub.  In return for a gift of cash or property, you receive an income for life while you help Straub fulfill its mission. Additionally, you may receive significant tax benefits such as:
 

• An income for life to the donor and their spouse
• A charitable income tax deduction
• A reduction or avoidance of capital gains taxes
• Savings on estate and gift taxes
